This past week in PreK-3, students learned about designing and building. We discussed how a designer first creates a drawing or blueprint of an idea and then shares it with a builder, who uses the plan to construct the design. To explore this concept, students first took on the role of designers by drawing blueprints of machines they wanted to create. They carefully planned their ideas on paper, thinking about the different parts their machines would need. Once their blueprints were complete, students became the builders. Using pool noodles and shaving cream as building materials, they worked to bring their designs to life. This hands-on activity allowed students to practice planning, creativity, and problem-solving while seeing how their drawings could turn into real structures.We had a lot of fun learning about designing and building and watching our creative machines come to life!
We are happy to report that we are good on boxes, and that we should have more than enough cardboard to make the best leprechaun traps you’ve ever seen! However, we are still looking for donations of some other craft supplies. Please look at the flyers below, and if you could send anything in before Friday, March 13, we would greatly appreciate it!
Our final day of Read Across America Spirit Week was the coziest one yet—Pajama Day! 📚✨ Students and staff came to school in their favorite pajamas, bringing plenty of comfort and excitement as we wrapped up a fantastic week celebrating the joy of reading. It was a wonderful way to end a week filled with books, imagination, and school spirit.
