Attention PES Families: Today, your student(s) will be coming home with the complimentary Shorebird tickets due to our school-wide field trip being canceled. All students in K-5 will receive 2 ticket vouchers, as will all chaperones who were registered for this event. These tickets are good for the duration of the season, except for select games noted on the vouchers. We wanted nothing more than to take our students to the Shorebirds this year, but Mother Nature had other ideas! We want to thank the Shorebirds for these vouchers to ensure our families and students can see our local minor league team play ball this summer!
Let’s give a big shout-out to Ms. Asbury, our passionate and talented Art Specialist at PES & RES! With **12 years of dedicated service—all at PES & RES—**Ms. Asbury continues to inspire creativity and imagination in every student she teaches. Her educational background is as impressive as her classroom with an Associate of Fine Arts from Delaware College of Art & Design, a BFA in Art Education from the Moore College of Art & Design, and a Master's of Education from LaSalle University. She serves on both the PBIS and CDAT SIP committees, constantly contributing to the growth of our school community. Ms. Asbury’s professional goals reflect her love of lifelong learning as she plans to continue taking art classes to bring new techniques into the classroom and use Art of Ed University PDs to expand her skills and knowledge Thank you, Ms. Asbury, for making art come alive for our students and helping them find the artist within! 🖌️💜
What an amazing Field Day at PES! 🎉☀️ The weather was perfect, our students had an absolute blast, and it was a joy to see so many families join us for the fun. A huge THANK YOU to our incredible staff—especially Mrs. Christi Saylor—for the countless hours of planning and hard work that made today such a success. Thank you to Ryan List for the amazing soundtrack to our day! Thank you to SRO Kenny Tull for keeping everyone safe today! And thank you to all the parents and family members for coming! Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun, food, and fundraising! There will be a Silent Auction, Tricky Tray Prizes, a Cake Wheel (just 25¢ a spin!), tons of games, themed gift baskets, raffles, and more! All proceeds support the students of Preston Elementary School for the 2025–26 school year. Springfest is open to the entire community — you don’t need to have a student at PES to join the fun! Let’s build strong schools and an even stronger community together.

We’re excited to spotlight Mr. Woody Lambert, our incredible Visual Arts Specialist for grades Pre-K to 5! With 25 years of educational experience, Mr. Lambert brings passion, creativity, and a wealth of knowledge to our school community. He holds multiple degrees and certifications, including a Bachelor's in Art History & Studio Art (University of AZ), a Master's in Art Education – Art Therapy (University of AZ), 60+ Post Graduate Teacher Certification (Prescott College), and aAdvanced Certifications in both Special Education & Art Education in grades Pre-K–5. Mr. Lambert is also a dedicated PBIS/Conscious Discipline committee member. He's committed to helping students connect through the power of the arts. His goal? He wants to guide students in recognizing their strengths and building meaningful connections! Today was a special day at Preston Elementary School as we welcomed back the graduating seniors of Caroline County Public Schools for their Graduate Walk! Our halls were filled with smiles, cheers, and applause as our students celebrated the Class of 2025, who took one final walk through the school where many of their educational journeys began. It was an inspiring moment for our young learners to see what hard work and dedication can lead to, and a heartwarming reminder of how far these graduates have come.
