This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Cathy Elin. Mrs. Elin is our Multilingual Language teacher (MLL) and has taught for 22 years! She has a Bachelor's from Towson University in Elementary Education and a Master's from La Salle in Building Positive Classroom Communities. She is certified in the following areas: Elementary 1-6, Physical Education, PreK-12, Early Childhood PK-3, ANC Reading 12, ESOL Pre K-12, and ANC Spelling 3. Mrs. Elin is a member of our Wellbeing and Belonging, Equity, and Behavior and Safety Teams. Mrs. Elin plans on continuing to keep loving and teaching our ML students each and every day! We are so thankful that Mrs. Elin has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride

Attention PES Families: Please consider helping PES support the victims of the recent Hurricanes that have impacted the southeast of the United States in recent weeks. These informational fliers have been sent home with all students. We are asking for donations of the items listed on the fliers, with a final collection date of October 22. Donations can be sent to the school with students or dropped off by community members. Thank you for considering supporting this important cause.
Red Ribbon Spirit Week is next week, starting Monday, October 21! Red Ribbon Week serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. PES will observe this important week by holding five different spirit days! We will also have special Red Ribbon-themed items and activities for our Panthers throughout the week. The information for Red Ribbon Week and our Spirit Days is being sent home with students and is also found in our weekly Panther Newsletter.

Attention PES Families: Halloween is coming up! PES will be holding our traditional parade and parties on Halloween, 10/31. In the coming days, information about parties and parades from both the school and classroom teachers will be sent home or shared electronically with families. We are looking forward to another fantastic Halloween Celebration here at PES!
This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Kendel Brown. Mrs. Brown teaches first grade and has been teaching for 5 years! Mrs. Brown has achieved a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Brown plans to pursue a Master's degree with a concentration in differentiated classrooms. Mrs. Brown is the chairperson of our School Safety and Behavior School Improvement Team, and is leading our work around making PES the very best it can be! We are so thankful that Mrs. Brown has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride
Today our second grade got to enjoy a wonderful fall day at JZ Farms! It may have been a bit windy, but there is nothing like fall weather when you’re at the farm! Our Panthers enjoyed all of the games, the ice cream and food, picking their own pumpkins, and so much more! Thank you to all of our chaperones and staff for making this trip a truly memorable experience! #PESPantherPride
