G is for Games! Our Kindergarten went old school today with some tabletop and board games to continue the ABC Countdown celebration! #pespantherpride

Congratulations to Lennox Swann for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she gave a 5 star review for is the book Middle School - The Worst Years of My Life by James Patterson. Sixth-grader Rafe’s first day of school is horrendous. Friendless except for his imaginary pal, Leo, he zones out during the recitation of the school’s code of conduct, setting himself the goal of breaking every rule before the end of the year. Yikes! Lennox loved the book because she is going to middle school next year! Rafe was bullied at school but he had a good friend that helped him. She thought that was one of the best themes of the book. You can find this book in the Fiction section of the library. Congratulations Lennox! #PESReads #pespantherpride

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Kayden, Emerson, Jasmyn, Ayva, Cayden, and Lainey are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! #pespantherpride

On the last day of Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week, we decided to go cool, and have ice cream for the entire Panther Staff family! The Scottish Highland Creamery ice cream was absolutely delicious! It was a fantastic way for us to end our week! #pespantherpride #thankateacher

Congrats to Mrs. Jenn Claytor on being our Staff Member of the Week! Mrs. Claytor is so great with our little Panthers, has so much patience, and is a massive reason why our Pre-K programs here at PES are such a success! If you ever have a chance to visit their classroom you absolutely should - it is pure joy and their kiddos are amazing - and that is because of the work that the entire team puts in! Congratulations Mrs. Claytor!

The ABC Kindergarten Countdown continues! Today was all about the letter F, and F is for Freeze Pops! Yum! Nothing better on a hot day then delicious treats! #pespantherpride

Mental Health Matters! To show awareness of the importance of Children’s Mental Health Week PES wore our green today! Way to go Panthers! #pespantherpride

We will admit that we are jealous, because we definitely wish we were studying earth worms right now! Our Pre-K is having a ton of fun, and Mrs. Glessner's Pre-K 4 year-old students certainly seem to be learning a lot about their earth worms. 😎 #pespantherpride

Sometimes it can be tough to wake up, but not on a morning when the Red Shef is waiting for us! Thank you to our Preston Panther PTO for such a yummy breakfast on Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! #thankateacher #pespantherpride

Congratulations to all of our Panther Singers, Chorus, Orchestra, and Band members for an amazing Spring Concert! They worked so hard, and the performance that they gave us tonight will be one we remember for a long time! Thank you so much to Mr. Ryan List for all of his care, compassion, dedication, and hard work with the students to turn them into the young musicians they are today! And finally, thank you to all of our families for continuing to support your students and our music program here at Preston Elementary School! #pespantherpride

Kindergarten celebrated the letter D today with “Donuts and Doodles”! Was there ever a better combination? The ABC Countown continues! #pespantherpride

Thank you to Pastor Paul and the Bethesda Methodist Church for the lovely box of goodies, fun positive stickers and flowers for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! They are very much appreciated, and we appreciate all of your support! #pespantherpride

We know our teachers and staff are definitely "nacho average" teachers! They are the very best around so today, catered by the Chesapeake Culinary Center, the staff had a fantastic taco and nacho lunch! #tacotuesday #pespantherpride #thankateacher #PESistheBest

C is for Chalk! ABC Countdown continues with some awesome artwork, and as you can tell our Kindergarten Panthers went all out! #pespantherpride

This week is Maryland Children's Mental Health Week, and at PES we recognize that positive mental health and care is so important for our Panthers! To recognize this week announcements will be shared daily with students from the Maryland Children's Mental Health Campaign, classes will have the opportunity to create positive affirmation messages, and we will celebrate this week with a Wear Green Spirit Day on Thursday, 5/11. Green is the official color of Children's Mental Health, so we are looking forward to showing our green in support. Please see the flyer below for details.

Today we a celebrating Nurse Brenda Smith for School Nurses Day at PES! Nurse Brenda is so kind, caring, and always takes care of our Panthers and staff with the very best of care! We love her and are so thankful for all she does for us here at PES! Thank you Nurse Brenda! #pespantherpride
