We recently had three very special students serve as our Principal, Assistant Principal, and Guidance Counselor for a day at PES! Congratulations to Ben, Colby, and Lucas! They did a great job! These students won these special roles at the PTO Springfest raffle 😎 #pespantherpride
Thank you to Mr. Tom Cheezum and some of our recently graduated CRHS seniors for coming to PES today to demonstrate their musical talents and instruments to our 3rd grade! Fourth grade is the first year where Preston Elementary School students can begin playing in our band or orchestra, and this was a great way to give them some information from some of our very own here in Caroline County! #CarolineFamily #PESPantherPride
Today some of our Preston staff members held the annual Preston Cup! The Preston Cup is a field day style competition that began in 2015 after the passing of our beloved coworker, Michaela Coulbourn. We have continued this tradition year after year as a way to come together at the end of a long school year. This year will be our 8th Preston Cup and will mark the year that Michaela’s last class graduates high school. ❤️

Today our Panthers were able to, thanks to our amazing Preston Panther PTO, go into the Mobile Ed SkyDome Planetarium! It was an experience that needed to be seen to be believed! Thank you PTO! #pespantherpride #starlightstarbright

Congrats to Mrs. Cathy Elin, she is our staff member of the week! We can not begin to say how much we admire the work Mrs. Elin does with our linguistically gifted students both in and out of school. They and their families are truly a part of our community because of the hard work and dedication she puts in each and every day! Mrs. Elin has made a lifelong impact on her Panthers, and their success at PES is seen by all of us every single day!
Congratulations to Ally Patchett for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she gave a 5 star review for is the book Titanic by Bob Temple. The Titanic book is a You Choose book. We have a whole section of You Choose books. There are 3 story paths, 35 choices and 15 different endings in this book! Ally loved The Titanic and loves to read books that are interactive. She said it was exciting because you get to decide the path but there is no telling where you will end up…even if you are on the Titanic! Congratulations Ally! #PESreads
This is the final reminder to all PES Families: Field Day is this tomorrow, Friday, June 2nd, 2023. Please refer to the Field Day information letter that has been sent home (and is also included in this week's newsletter) for all of the information. We are also happy to announce that all students this year will receive a free Sno-Cone courtesy of the Highland Ice Company! Sno-Cones will also be available for purchase for all adults. Please remember sunscreen, a water bottle, and appropriate clothing to enjoy all the field day fun.
S is for sunglasses! Today we had sunglasses day. We got to wear our sunglasses inside all day!! We read “Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses,” wrote about what we would see if we had magic sunglasses and designed sunglasses we would like to have. We also enjoyed a sweet treat in the sunshine while wearing our sunglasses! The ABC Countdown continues! #pespantherpride #abccountdown
Our 1st grade got to go to Adkins Arboretum today on their field trip! Judging by all of their smiling faces, this was one day that they will never forget! #pespantherpride
This event is happening on June 8th. All students will participate, and do not need a yearbook to enjoy the fun! Thank you to our amazing PTO for, once again, taking care of our Panthers. ❤️❤️❤️
