This week, we’re celebrating Mrs. Sherman, our amazing school counselor! With 19 years of educational experience—12 in special education and now in her 7th year as a school counselor—Mrs. Sherman brings heart, wisdom, and dedication to everything she does. 💜 She holds degrees in Elementary & Special Education and a Master's in School Counseling, and she's a key member of several school committees, including serving as the Positive Behavior Co-Chair. Mrs. Sherman’s passion is clear: she’s always learning new strategies to support our students and families better. Her favorite quote? “Do the right thing, even when no one is looking.” 🫶 Thank you, Mrs. Sherman, for all you do to make PES a kinder, more supportive place to grow and learn! 🦆✨

Preston Elementary | May the 4th Be With You! The Force was strong at Preston Elementary today! Our halls were filled with Jedi, Sith, stormtroopers, and more as we celebrated May the 4th Be With You Spirit Day. Students and staff showed off their Star Wars spirit with epic costumes—there were plenty of Baby Yodas, R2-D2s, and even a few brave stormtroopers keeping watch! Thanks to everyone who joined the galactic fun and made today out of this world!











Digging Into Learning in Pre-K!
Mrs. Glessner’s class had an exciting time this week investigating earthworms as part of their hands-on science exploration! Our curious Pre-K students observed how earthworms move, what they feel like, and where they live. They asked questions, made predictions, and got up close with nature—proving that even the tiniest creatures can lead to big discoveries. Our Pre-K4 students took on a fun STEAM challenge this week—designing spider webs and creating spiders that met specific design goals. Each spider needed 8 legs and 2 body parts, and each web had to hold at least 10 insects. The kids used creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to meet the challenge and loved sharing how they built their spiders and designed their webs. Spring Sports Spirit Day at Preston Elementary! Today, students showed their team spirit by wearing their favorite spring sports gear, Baltimore Orioles apparel, and other sports-themed outfits. The school was filled with jerseys, hats, and big smiles as we celebrated our love for sports and school pride. Thank you to all the students and staff who made Spring Sports Spirit Day a success!











Today our 4th and 5th graders visited the Sultana Foundation Holt Educational Center and the Lawrence Wetland Preserve! Students explored colonial history, learned about the Chesapeake Bay, and discovered the importance of wetlands through hands-on activities.
