PES Newsletter

Dear PES Families,

Hello, we hope everyone is doing well! Please read our newsletter in full for all of the latest PES news.

Our newsletter can be accessed here.

We would first like to thank our entire community and staff for an amazing Book Fair Week, Grandparents Day, and Veterans Day Program! The memories our school community and family made this week will stay with us all for a very long time! Please check out our CCPS app and Facebook page to see our students, staff, and community at these events. We would like to especially thank all of our volunteers, the PTO, the Denton Rotary Club, the Federalsburg VFW Auxillary 5256, and Sgt. First Class Daniel Mulford for their time and dedication to our Panthers this week to make everything possible!

This week we will be hosting the first meeting for interested parties for this year's 5th Grade Celebration. The meeting will take place at 5:30 PM in the media center and will be immediately followed by this month's PTO meeting at 6 PM. Please see the PTO corner in the newsletter for all the important details.

On Monday, 11/13, we will kick off our annual PES Ruritan/Idlewild Club Food Drive. Families are encouraged to donate non-perishable items to this important cause. Items can be brought in with students and given to their classroom teachers. Please see the newsletter for all of the important details.

Finally, thank you, everyone, for the successful launch of our One School, One Book at PES with "The World According to Humphrey". Humphrey is settling right in at PES, and has been out and about in our classrooms, our hallways, and other places and has quickly become one of our students' favorite friends to check in on! In this newsletter, we have the letter explaining our OSOB program and the timeline for reading the book both at school and at home with your students. We have also sent this information home in backpacks with helpful questions as well to enjoy "The World According to Humphrey" with your students!

Important upcoming events included in this newsletter are:

  1. Idlewild Ruritan Club Food Drive - 11/13 to 12/15
  2. 5th Grade Party Planning Meeting - 5:30 PM, Monday - 11/13
