PES Newsletter

Dear PES Families,

Hello, we hope everyone is doing well! Please read our newsletter in full for all of the latest PES news.

Our newsletter can be accessed here.

PES is looking forward to a spooky good time on Halloween this year! We will hold our Halloween Parade at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, 10/31. Our parade will be open to parents and families. Halloween Parties will follow afterward. Please see this weekend's newsletter for specific information about the Halloween Parade. Please refer to Classroom Party Letters from grade level teams as they are sent home for specific party times and volunteer attendance for parties. All information for both the parade and parties has been sent home in backpacks of students as well via paper copies.

PES will be honoring the Hispanic holiday of Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. This celebration is a happy holiday focused on deceased loved ones, keeping their memories alive, and celebrating the continuation of life beyond the one we live here on Earth.

The Fall Book Fair is coming up! We are excited to announce that the Fall Book Fair will be the week of November 6th to the 10th! We will also have a Book Fair Night, from 4 to 5:30, on Thursday, November 9 for all families. Please see the newsletter for more details on this year's Book Fair.

Grandparents Day and our annual Veterans Day Assembly are right around the corner. Please save the date for Friday, November 10th for these two very special events. More information will be coming out via email and our social media channels, as well as sent home in student backpacks, later this week.

Fall Picture Make-ups are on Monday, November 6. This an opportunity for any new student or absent student on our first Fall Picture Day to get their photo taken. Any family wishing to have retakes done due to an issue with their Fall Photo may do so as well. Information about ordering pictures is in our newsletter, and you may also call our Front Offices for any additional information.

Finally, thank you, everyone, for the successful launch of our One School, One Book at PES with "The World According to Humphrey". Humphrey is settling right in at PES, and has been out and about in a few classrooms, our hallways, and other places and has quickly become one of our students' favorite friends to check in on! In this newsletter, we have the letter explaining our OSOB program and the timeline for reading the book both at school and at home with your students. We have also sent this information home in backpacks with helpful questions as well to enjoy "The World According to Humphrey" with your students!

Important upcoming events included in this newsletter are:
