PES Newsletter

Dear PES Families,

Hello, we hope everyone is doing well! Please be sure to read our newsletter in full for all of the latest PES news.

Our newsletter can be accessed here.

We had such a wonderful first day and first week of school at PES! Thank you to all of our teachers and staff members, students, parents, and family members! Because of the efforts of all involved PES is off to a fantastic start, and our Panthers are right back into the swing of things! Please be sure to check out the CCPS app and our Facebook page for all of the pictures from our first day and week!

This week we are excited to complete our PES family when we welcome our Pre-K 3 and 4-year-old families. Our Pre-K Orientation is from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, 9/11. This event is for all Pre-K 3 and 4-year-old students and their families. This is an opportunity to meet your teacher, tour classrooms, and more. We are looking forward to seeing you all there! Also be reminded that the first day of school for Pre-K programming is Tuesday, 9/12.

Please be sure to return the Volunteer Form, Choptank Health Registration form, PTO membership form, and any other important classroom documents that have been sent home this week. Our volunteer form is necessary for attending school events and chaperoning field trips. Please be sure to turn the Volunteer form over to the back, as it is a front-to-back document. Please consider sending the PTO membership form in and joining our PTO. Our first PTO meeting is on Monday, September 11th, at 6 p.m. at PES.

Wednesday, September 13, is Caroline Goes Purple Day. All students and staff are encouraged to wear purple to raise awareness for Substance Abuse Prevention.

In this newsletter, we also have the information needed for our families in need to sign up for the food weekend backpack program. If you are already enrolled in this program you do not need to sign up again. This information will also be posted to our CCPS app and our Facebook page.

Please be sure to download the CCPS App from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store as soon as possible. CCPS and PES are using our App as our main method of communication. It is a hub for news, posts, emails, calls, and more that enables our families to stay up-to-date on all the latest CCPS news.

Important upcoming events included in this newsletter are:

  1. Pre-K Orientation - Monday, 9/11/23 - 2 PM @ PES
  2. PTO Meeting - Monday, 9/11/23 - 6 PM @ PES
  3. First Day for Pre-K 3/4 Students - Tuesday, 9/12/23
  4. 1/2 Day of School for Students - Friday, 9/15/23 - 1 PM Dismissal

Transportation - It is stressful when your child’s bus is delayed. When a delay is experienced, our priority is to ensure student safety and correct the issue causing the delay. However, we will make every effort to send a CCPS App call or email to advise of a delay. Please make sure your contact information is accurate by calling our front office staff with any changes.

Health & Wellness - Please be assured that the staff is here to help in any way possible. If you or your student would like to speak with a school counselor, administrator, or staff at the School-Based Health Center, please just ask. We have the resources at hand to ensure students have a healthy and successful school year.

If you have any questions related to the happenings at PES please reach out to me via email (angeloni.antonio@ccpsstaff.org) or by calling the school directly.
