PES Newsletter

Dear PES Families,

Hello, we hope everyone is doing well! Please be sure to read our newsletter in full for all of the latest PES news.

Our PES Panther Family Newsletter can be accessed here.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back this Tuesday, 9/5/23, for the first day of school for all Kindergarten to Grade 5 Panthers! We saw so many of our families at Meet the Teacher, and the energy from our staff, students, and families was definitely making all those groovy positive vibes shine!

We know the first day of school is always filled with energy, love, and sometimes a bit of anxiety! We will have all of our staff available to help students as they enter the school and find their classrooms. We ask that parents take pictures and say goodbyes outside of the school, as it is so important we get our Panthers to class and establish our routines with them. On the first day, we ask that no parents or family members follow their students to class. We will make sure your student is well taken care of!

Please be reminded school begins at 8:45 AM. All car rider families need to use the car rider line and loop. No car riders should be dropped off at the front of the school. None of our car rider procedures have changed. If you did not get your car rider tags at Meet the Teacher they will be sent home with your student on the first day of school. We begin our dismissal procedures at 3:45 PM. Bus-riding families we ask for patience on the first few days with the timing of bus routes, but please be rest assured that as our bus drivers run their routes for the first few days they will align with times given to families for pick-up and drop-off at designated bus stops or homes.

If you have any questions about the first day of school or anything else that is important to your family and student please reach out to Mr. Angeloni or Mrs. Waters as soon as possible and we will be more than happy to be of assistance!

In this newsletter, we also have the information needed for our families in need to sign up for the food weekend backpack program. If you are already enrolled in this program you do not need to sign up again. This information will also be posted to our CCPS app and our Facebook page.

Please be sure to download the CCPS App from either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store as soon as possible. CCPS and PES are using our App as our main method of communication. It is a hub for news, posts, emails, calls, and more that enables our families to stay up-to-date on all the latest CCPS news.

Important upcoming events included in this newsletter are:

  1. First Day of School for K-5 students - Tuesday, 9/5/23
  2. Pre-K Orientation - Monday, 9/11/23 - 2 PM @ PES

Transportation - It is stressful when your child’s bus is delayed. When a delay is experienced, our first priority is to ensure student safety and correct the issue causing the delay. However, we will make every effort to send a CCPS App call or email to advise of a delay. Please make sure your contact information is accurate by calling our front office staff with any changes. Please also see this newsletter for Car Rider Line Tips!

Health & Wellness - Please be assured that the staff is here to help in any way possible. If you or your student would like to speak with a school counselor, administrator, or staff at the School-Based Health Center, please just ask. We have the resources at hand to ensure students have a healthy and successful school year.

If you have any questions related to the happenings at PES please reach out to me via email (angeloni.antonio@ccpsstaff.org) or by calling the school directly.
